Shift Supervisor


  1. Monitor the clients, units, and grounds always to ensure the security and safety of each resident.
  2. Examine all items entering the facility to ensure client and staff safety.
  3. Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed.
  4. Record incidents and residents’ grievances appropriate in a logbook and on an incident report.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with all department supervisors concerning social services issues.
  6. Manage entry logs to ensure all persons entering the facility are recorded and accounted for.
  7. Participate in the development of site goals and objectives by making recommendations that can aid in site efficiency.
  8. Assist clients with questions and resolve any issues as they may arise.
  9. Monitor video surveillance of all areas of the facility.
  10. Adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  11. Report any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel.
  12. Work diplomatically to solve issues that may arise.
  13. Provide coverage when necessary.
  14. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  15. Perform all other required duties to ensure the facility is running efficiently.



  • Y.S. Security License, F-80 Certificate of Fitness, C.P.R./Basic First Aid certification
  • Minimum High School Diploma / G.E.D.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in working with clients.
  • General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of H.I.P.P.A. guidelines and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to assess emergencies and respond effectively
